When placed in a natural setting, the synthetic, plastic table cloths seemed to become natural themselves. Surprisingly, I found that despite their inherent differences to the natural world, they seemed to adapt to the environment around them, becoming more of a natural part of the space they were placed in than a man-made imposter. They flowed with the wind, cast light and shadow in a natural and beautiful way, and bobbed up and down on a flimsy branch much like a leaf would. Because of this, the table cloths became alive in the space. They told a narrative through the transparency of light and shadow.
